The innovative NYTRO® BIO 300X combines environmental sensitivity with top performance without compromise.

“It exceeds the IEC 60296 specification and undergoes strict tests to ensure high stability,” says Rene Abrahams, Nynas Technical Manager Electrical Industry. “It is also verified readily biodegradable to OECD 301 standards, providing the best of both worlds.”

Consisting of 99 % bio-based hydrocarbon, NYTRO® BIO 300X has a significantly smaller carbon footprint than non bio-based insulation fluids. Inside the power transformer, the product behaves in very similar way to existing mineral insulating oils and will not usually require any significant changes to materials or designs.

But the key performance factor is the enhanced cooling ability. Due to best-in-class low viscosity – about three times lower than insulating mineral liquids – NYTRO® BIO 300X promises lower hot spots and overall better thermal performance in the transformer.
